I am in year 5 at Meadowbank School. I have a brother and sister also at Meadowbank. In the holidays I went to Great Barrier Island. It was a really fun and rocky boat ride. I went fishing and caught two fish but they were too small to keep.
I have a pet cat. She is 3. She catches skinks, cicadas, crickets and cockroaches...

Today we went to the Orakei Marae. It was cool because I learned a poi dance and got to watch the boys do the haka.
15 March
We went to Tree Adventures today. It was fun because I had never been there before and I learned about carabinas.
16 March
Today we did orienteering in Waiatarua reserve. It was cool because I liked finding the tag thingies (clues).
17 March
We went to the Wavepools today. It was fun because I loved it when the waves came on and when I went down the hydroslide.
Today we did garden 2 table. I was gardening. We harvested some potatoes. After that we washed some dirty signs.Then we had morning tea. Next we painted the signs with PVA glue to make them look new. Then we ate what the people who where cooking had made. They had made cheesecake, curry with potatoes (the ones we harvested!) and flat bread.
For writing we are doing speeches.They have to be persuasive, so mine is on why it's good to fly.
For topic we are doing SCIENCE!!!!!!! We are supposed to invent, bottle and name our own stain removers for the sci-tech exhibition.
We did cross country (It was 1,900 meters!). I came 14th!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have been doing Literature circles for reading. We have been split into 5 groups all reading different books.I am reading Joey Pigza swallowed the key by Jack Gantos. It is about a boy called Joey Pigza who has ADHD.
In maths we are focusing on measurement.Specifically area (Length times width), perimeter (Length plus width) and volume (length times width times height).

Today I did G2T. I was gardening. I planted a Blackboy peach tree and transplanted an apple tree. I also planted broad beans and cabbage. A few other members of the group went on a slug hunt. They found about 10 of them. Then we went inside and ate cabbage soup, pasta, citrus jelly and citrus water.
